Serving Whitby
Whitby stretches from the Lake Ontario shore at Port Whitby all the way north to Brooklin and the rural edge around Ashburn, so the garage doors here vary as much as the streets do. Our base in Oshawa sits just across the town's eastern boundary, which keeps Whitby close to home for us.
Here our focus is garage doors and openers, from a single broken spring to a full replacement paired with a new opener. We also install security cameras, change and rekey locks, and run a car lockout line for drivers stuck anywhere in town.
Quotes are free and come with no obligation, and before we pack up, every door gets a safety and balance check.
About Whitby
From Port Whitby to Brooklin
Down by the water in Port Whitby, houses sit close to the lake and take the brunt of wind, damp air and winter road salt. That mix is hard on springs, hinges, rollers and the bottom seal, and it is common to find surface rust or a weatherstrip that has gone stiff and split. Keeping the moving parts lubricated and replacing worn seals early helps a lakeside door last.
Brooklin and the newer subdivisions of north Whitby, such as Williamsburg and Taunton North, are a different story. The doors there are generally newer, so the issues tend to be remotes that lost their pairing, keypads that stopped responding, safety sensors out of alignment, or getting an opener connected to a phone app.
In between, downtown Whitby around Brock and Dundas streets holds heritage houses with detached or tucked-away garages. Doors on those properties are often older, heavier and sometimes still lifted by hand, so a careful repair-or-replace discussion matters more than usual. For commuters, the parking at Whitby GO is a classic place to realise the keys are sitting inside a locked car.

Garage door repair and new doors in Whitby
We replace broken springs and cables, swap out worn rollers, straighten bent tracks and get off-track doors moving again, then balance the door and confirm the auto-reverse works. On the opener side, we reprogram remotes and keypads, realign safety sensors, adjust the travel and force limits, and replace units that are past fixing.
If you are replacing the door itself, we help you weigh material, insulation, windows and colour against the look of your house, then remove the old door, install the new one, set up the opener and run a full safety test. Heritage homes downtown often suit a carriage-style design, while newer Brooklin builds usually call for an insulated door that matches the rest of the street.
Problems we fix in Whitby
- Remotes and keypads that lost their pairing
- Safety sensors blinking or out of line
- Rust and stiff seals on lakeside doors
- Snapped springs and frayed cables
- Heavy older doors on heritage homes
Security cameras
Security cameras for Whitby and Brooklin homes
For most Whitby houses the starting point is the driveway, the front porch and any side gate. We run wired PoE cameras back to an NVR inside the house, so recording carries on even if your internet drops, and person and vehicle alerts reach your phone wherever you are, including on the train home from Whitby GO.
Locks & lockouts
Locks and car lockouts in Whitby
Just bought a house in Whitby or Brooklin? Rekeying the existing locks, or swapping in new deadbolts and handle sets, means previous owners, trades and anyone else holding an old key can no longer let themselves in. We also repair locks that stick and doors that no longer latch cleanly.
If you are locked out of your car in Whitby, whether at Whitby GO, a plaza on Taunton Road or your own driveway in Brooklin, call our 24/7 car lockout line and we will work to open it without damage whenever possible.
Local areas
Whitby and Brooklin neighbourhoods we serve
In north Whitby we work across Brooklin, Taunton North and Williamsburg, where attached garages and smart opener features are the norm.
Through the middle of town, Pringle Creek, Rolling Acres, Blue Grass Meadows and Lynde Creek are established residential areas where springs, rollers and original openers start to show their age.
South of Highway 401, Port Whitby sits along the lake and downtown Whitby holds many of the town's heritage homes, and we also travel north to the hamlet of Ashburn.

Do you cover Brooklin?
Yes. Brooklin is part of the Town of Whitby, and homes there get the same garage door repairs, new doors and openers, camera installs and lock changes as the rest of town. Share your address when you call so we can schedule the visit, and we will confirm the details before we head north.
Our Brooklin new-build opener remotes stopped working. Can you reprogram them?
Usually, yes. Remotes on newer openers can lose their pairing after a power outage, a battery change or a reset of the opener. We check the remotes, wall button and keypad, pair them again, and confirm the safety sensors are lined up. If the opener's receiver or logic board has failed, we explain the repair and replacement options before doing any work.
Does lake air near Port Whitby affect garage door hardware?
It can. Damp air, wind off the lake and road salt in winter speed up rust on springs, hinges, rollers and bottom brackets, and rubber seals can harden and crack. Light lubrication of moving parts and early replacement of worn weatherstripping both help. During a visit we look for corrosion and wear and tell you honestly what needs attention now and what can wait.
Can you change the locks after we buy a home in Whitby?
Yes. After a purchase you rarely know how many keys are still out there, so we can rekey your existing locks or replace them with new deadbolts, knobs or levers. Rekeying keeps the hardware you already have while making the old keys useless, and replacement suits locks that are worn, loose or simply dated. We book this work during regular hours.
